Our Vision Statement

Children will leave Hurstville Public School as responsible young citizens with high self-esteem, a love of learning, the ability to make meaningful decisions and respect for the rights and values of others.

We will achieve this through our commitment to quality education, in partnership with the whole school community.

P&C

The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) meets on the 3rd Friday of each month at 9.15am. The P&C is involved in decision making and fundraising.

Next meeting: 27th November 2009 at 10am in the staff room.

Term 3 Update

After last year’s campaign to request a new classroom building, plans are now underway to convert part of Hurstville Boys’ High School into new classrooms for future Year 5 and 6 students. Once the building is complete, the demountables at the school will be removed, providing more playground space for the children.

The P&C has an opportunity now to raise any suggestions or concerns to be taken into account in the design process. If you would like input, please come along to our next P&C meeting on 18 September 2009, or email us at pchurstville@hotmail.com.

Fundraising 2009

The P&C decided to raise funds this year for a networked video projector for the school hall. This could be used by students for video conferencing, for example with students overseas, as well as for presentations.

This year’s fundraising events will consist of:

Term 1	Easter guessing competition
Term 2	Mother’s Day stall for students in K-2
Term 3	Father’s Day stall for students in K-2 Mufti Day – “Dress like Dad”
Term 4	Walkathon Mufti Day – “Christmas”
